In 1988, Cantiere del Pardo was still a proud family business focused on building high-quality sailing yachts with excellent sailing characteristics and undeniably beautiful lines. With the Grand Soleil 52 series, they have far exceeded these objectives.

French Dragon was built in 1988 at Cantiere del Pardo in Italy. The renowned naval architect German Frers is responsible for her design, and this is clearly reflected in the beautiful, rounded, feminine lines of the yacht. French Dragon is a true beauty; you fall in love immediately and can only think of one thing: I want her!

In 2019, after an extensive refit/rebuilt, French Dragon lost her virginity to the sea; it was her maiden voyage. The owner sailed her from Amsterdam, the Netherlands, to Scotland, with the first stop in Inverness, then traveled via the Caledonian Canal to the Irish Sea. From there, she crossed the Atlantic from Cork in southern Ireland to the Algarve in Portugal. The journey continued through the Strait of Gibraltar into the Mediterranean Sea, passing through the Spanish coast, Sardinia, Sicily, and several Greek islands, including Mykonos, before finally reaching her destination in Çeşme on Turkey's Aegean coast.

With her 8-ton bulb keel and 2.70-meter draft, French Dragon boasts excellent sailing characteristics. You can set out on a circumnavigation with peace of mind; with her 18.8 tons (empty), she remains stable under sail, even in winds exceeding 45-50 Beaufort. This is a sailing yacht like they simply don’t make anymore today.

Unfortunately, due to personal circumstances, this also became her final voyage. French Dragon longs to return to the open sea and is now searching for a new owner who will care for her and explore the oceans once more.

French Dragon is a unique sailing yacht, truly one of a kind! A yacht for enthusiasts, a sailing yacht with beautiful, classic lines that are rarely seen today. When you sail her into the harbor, people stop and stare, welcoming you with approving glances and genuine compliments!
